Relva (also in Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEK and Fogo Crioulo (Djarfogo)), is a village located approximately 40 km east of the island capital of Sao Filipe, southeast of Mosteiros and north of Cova Figueira in the island of Fogo, Cape Verde. Relva is linked with a branch of the road encircling the island.
The area around Relva contains farmlands that partly extends up to 100 to 400 m above sea level, the Chã das Caldeiras is to the west. Grasslands, rocks and ledges and bushes are sporadically founded in its valleys and its coastline with the Atlantic Ocean which is to the east. The living standards are in the low range as well as its income, one time, there were no money until the late-20th century. The village is in the island's low class. Every house is built with mud-brick and stone. All of its population are farmers and are based in agriculture where banana plantations, pineapple and other crops are common. However, a part of the needy materials comes from the island capital, the island capital and the diaspora. But for other needs, electricity, communications and appliances are partially available in the area as well as phone lines since the mid to late-20th century. A part of the necessities also comes from the island capital.
